Skin Rejuvenation treatments can result in brighter, younger-looking skin. From removing unwanted hair to reducing discoloration, a variety of treatments are available to help you turn back the clock on your skin.
DiamondGlow: Noninvasive Skin Resurfacing
The DiamondGlow system was launched in 2020 by SkinMedica and in 2021 won the New Beauty Award for Best In-Office Facial Treatment. DiamondGlow is a non-invasive skin resurfacing treatment. It essentially is a three-step process that incorporates the following:
- Exfoliation: similar to, yet more gentle on the skin, than traditional microdermabrasion;
- Extraction of dirt and debris from pores;
- Infusion of various serums that can be tailored to individual patient needs.
Dermaplaning
This treatment involves the use of a single-edged blade, different than use of a razor, to exfoliate the skin and remove some fine, unwanted hair. The process also can induce the skin to feel like it has been wounded, thus triggering the rebuilding of collagen and allowing for the decreased appearance of fine lines and wrinkles. The skin has an immediate glow afterwards and involves no recovery time.
Chemical peels
The impact of a chemical peel depends upon the depth of the peel. The deeper the peel, the more recovery time that is involved, but the more improvement that can be seen. Peels are utilized for a wide variety of issues, including discoloration and brown spots, fine lines and wrinkles, precancerous lesions, and superficial scarring. An acid solution is applied to the skin, chemically removing skin cells. Thereby they have the capacity to go deeper than microdermabrasion or dermaplaning. Botox. Injections of botulinum toxin are utilized to quickly obtain relaxation of wrinkles of the face and neck. They have no recovery time and start working within 7-10 days. The effects last about 3-6 months.
Soft tissue fillers
Injections of soft-tissue fillers are utilized to add fullness to the face in areas where subcutaneous fat has been depleted over time, giving height to the cheekbones, lifting those jowls that can form along the neckline, and filling in lines that develop. They work immediately and generally last from 1-2 years. Many of them utilize a synthetic form of hyaluronic acid, which is a natural sugar molecule that helps collagen bind water to the skin, giving skin a more plump and hydrated look.
